Turncraft Ornamental capitals are artfully crafted from a number of materials including wood, plaster and fibers. All are made in the appropriate proportions for the various styles of architecture and sizes of column shafts. They are coated with boiled lineseed oil and turpentine as a weather protector. Ornamental Capitals are crated for protection and shipped with a load-bearing wooden plug. Before exposure to any weathering situation at least two coats of oil base paint should be applied to inside and outside of capital.
